Winter walk / Balade hivernal

Hi all, Today, I post for you a picture that I found particularly nice, even if it still has flaws. On the occasion of family reunion in Paris and afer a lunch and watching a puppet show with our children, we went visit the Eiffel tower and let them discover it. I took my camera, to take picture of those particular and precious moments. We arrived at the Eiffel tower just for the sunset, weather was fine and we waited for a long time to have a clear sky, with however some cold gust of wind that announced at last winter time. Well, firsts pictures has not the rendering that I wanted. Then the night quickly fall over Paris and it was time to get down of the Eiffel tower. We could feel the bitter cold through our jackets. I has noticed the color of the structure that was almost like gold due to the tower lightning. It was the same for the picture angle, that I had spotted and had done some test photos before going up to the Eiffel tower. The picture was take at the foot of the east pillar, unfortunatly I had not my tripod so I used all my self control and a few technics to not shake et get a blur picture. I have to get back with tripod to get a better result. Here I use my 18-50 at 18mm and with the smallest aperture to get a maximum of ligth. I had set my camera to be at 1600 ISO that make noise on my picture forcing me to correct it on the post processing

Bonjour à tous, Aujourd'hui, je vous poste une photo que je trouve particulièrement sympa, même s'il lui reste des défauts. A l'occasion de retrouvailles en famille sur Paris et avoir passer une bonne partie de l'après midi pour déjeuner et aller voir un spectacle de marionnette avec les enfants, nous sommes allés visiter la tour Eiffel et la faire découvrir à ces derniers. Pour cette occasion je n'avais pas hésité à prendre mon appareil photo afin d'immortaliser ces moments précieux. Nous sommes arrivés à la tour Eiffel pour le couché de soleil, il faisait beau et cela faisait un certain temps que nous attendions d'avoir un ciel dégagé, avec toutefois de bon coup de vents bien frais qui annonçait enfin l'hiver. Toujours est-il, les premières photos prises ne présentaient pas forcément le rendu qui convenait. La nuit s'est donc installée rapidement et arrivait l'heure de redescendre, le froid mordant se faisant bien sentir. j'avais déjà repéré la couleur des poutres qui tirait presque sur le doré du à l'éclairage mis en place sur la tour Eiffel. Pareil pour l'angle de la photo, que j'avais vu et pour lequel j'avais fait quelques photos avant de monter. La photo fut prise au pied le pilier Est, malheureusement je n'avais pas pris mon trépieds et j'ai du user de tout mon calme et d'un peu de technique pour ne pas trembler et rendre la photo complètement flou. il faut que j'y retourne avec le trépied pour améliorer le résultat. Ici j'ai utilisé mon 18-55 à 18mm et la plus grande ouverture possible pour avoir un maximum de lumière. j'ai du aussi paramétrer mon boiter sur 1600 ISO, ceci produisant pas mal de bruit sur la photo j'ai du le corriger en post traitement.

First exhibition / Première exposition

Hi all, New year, new resolutions or looks like we take back old ones that we left unfinished last year. You do not have to believe that I forget my blog. I had just not enough time, OK well, no time, to post on it. Between work and all that I need to do at home, it became somehow complicated. Now, I will force myself to work on my blog every weeks, and post regularly. In additional without any time to take picture, I had not really something to discuss on. I said new year, new resolutions. As you had no news since September, I will begin from there. It seems that I have followed the French school calendar ;) Some changes has appeared. First, as simple photography hobbyist, I wondered how could I improve myself technically, artistically and also share my experiences. I searched for a photo club in my region ans I found there was one in where I live. Thus I got registered. In order to take stock of my knowledge, I follow two trainings : "image processing" and "composition rules and use of the camera". After that I participate to a CDP 91 exhibition (comité Départemental Photographique de l'Essonne) which was at La Norville. I got the chance to present two of my pictures that I will present you. The theme was "Religious Heritage". This exhibition was held on two weekends January 7-8 and 14-15. Since my register at the photo club, we had a previous contest for which I didn't found any inspiration neither the time to take pictures. For this one, I would not get my chance to participate at an exhibition and to have feedback on my work going away. I have got in my old picture, not numeric ones, 2 or 3 photos that should be great example for the theme but I was not lucky. They were 530 km away and I could not get them back before the exhibition. In additional, I did not paid attention to the planning and had to hurry up to take photos for this theme. After some searches on the Internet about possible religious buildings in Essonne and some unsuccessful sightings around my job place, I went near my home. The basilica Notre-Dame of Longpont gave me a perfect subject to take pictures.	Bonjour à tous, Nouvelle année, nouvelles résolutions ou plutôt on reprend celles que l'on avait délaissées l'année dernière. Il ne faut pas croire que j'avais oublié mon blog. J'avais juste plus beaucoup de temps, bon ok, plus de temps du tout, à m'y consacrer. Entre le boulot, et tout ce qui fallait faire à la maison, cela devenait compliqué. Dorénavant, je me forcerais à consacrer un peu de temps toutes les semaines. En plus, sans beaucoup de temps pour faire des photos, je ne disposais pas vraiment de matière à discuter. Je disais donc nouvelle année, nouvelles résolutions. Comme vous n'aviez pas de nouvelles depuis Septembre, je vais partir de là. Pour le coup on dirait bien que je me suis calé sur l'année scolaire ;) Un certain nombre de changements sont apparu. Tout d'abord, en tant que simple amateur de photographie, je me suis demandé comment m'améliorer, techniquement et artistiquement mais aussi faire partager mes expériences et pouvoir échanger. J'ai rechercher les clubs photos de ma régions et j'ai découvert qu'il en existait un dans ma ville. Je m'y suis donc inscrit. Afin de faire le point sur mes connaissances, j'y ai suivit deux formations : "traitement de l'image" et "règles de composition et manipulation de l'appareil". Depuis j'ai participer a une exposition du CDP 91 (Comité départemental Photographique de l’Essonne) qui à eu lieu à La Norville. J'ai eu la chance d'y soumettre deux photos que je vais vous présenter. Le thème était "Patrimoine religieux". Cette expo c'est déroulé sur les deux week-end du 7-8 et 14-15 Janvier dernier. Depuis mon adhésion au club nous avions déjà eu un concours photo ou je n'avais pas trouver l'inspiration et le temps m'avait manqué. Pour celle-ci, je ne voulais pas laisser passer ma chance de participer à une expo et avoir une vision de ce que pouvait donner mon hobby. J'ai d'ailleurs dans mes archives argentique deux ou trois photos qui pouvaient répondre au thème, mais pas de chance, elles sont à quelques 530 Km de la ou j'habite et je n'ai pas eu l'occasion de les récupérer. En plus, n'ayant pas vraiment fait attention au calendrier, je me suis retrouvé à devoir faire dans l'urgence des photos sur ce thème. Après quelques recherches sur internet concernant les éventuels bâtiments religieux de l'Essonne et repérages infructueux autour de mon travail, je suis allé près de chez moi. La basilique Notre-Dame de Longpont m’offrait un sujet parfait pour effectuer des photos.

The one on the left, is the front of the basilica. I have take it in low-angle shot as if we were on our knee as in repentance. It was take at f/8 to get a maximum of details and good depth of field. the speed at 1/30 secondes was fast enough not to get blur at the 18mm. The one on the right, is a rear view of the basilica. There is a parc with a basketball court behind and as it has rained on the morning, I have got a wonderfull puddle to take the basilica with its reflection.	Celle de gauche est une photo du porche de la basilique. Je l'ai prise en contre-plongée pour bien donné cette impression d'etre agenouiller comme en repentance. Elle a été prise avec une ouverture de f/8 pour disposer d'un maximum de détail et une bonne profondeur de champs. La vitesse de 1/30 de sec. était assez rapide pour ne pas avoir de flou de bougé avec ma focale de 18mm. Celle de droite, est une photo de l'arrière de la basilique. Il y a un parc avec un terrain de basket a l'arrière, ayant plût le matin même, Je disposais d'une belle flaque d'eau pour prendre la basilique et son reflet.
